31/7/07

Hey. Yesterday I went out with the homeless ministry, it was amazing, especially what happened there.

On our way there I was in a van with 2 more guys and an older lady, there was another van with a lot more people. So u know typically they asked a lor of questions about Malta and Christianity in Malta (I wrote here but I remembered Im not there) so I answered their questions and stuff. The old lady was telling me that she is from LA, orange county area, she said that she never went out of that area until she was 71 when she moved to KC. That was quite interesting; she knew that God really wanted her to be here.

Nothing special I just talked to a couple of guys, not even witnessing, I just let them talk. They like to talk.

First guy I talked to said he was a historian (I think he mostly meant that he was in love with history). He is not homeless but lives on government relief probably coz of some kind of mental handicap. He was telling me how his favourite period in history was the renaissance, and his favourite family was the ‘De Medici’ who are also known as the godfathers or renaissance. He had the whole lineage of the family from the beginning when they started a bakery till Ferdinand II who was the Grand Duke of Tuscany in the period of Galileo Galilei. He was telling me about their connections to Galileo, Michelangelo and others. He also told me that one of them sent an assassination squad to kill the pope so that he could become a pope himself. Anyway it was interesting.

The other guy loved numbers memorizing and stuff like that. He memorized the amount of counties in each state and in some cases he also memorized the amount of counties starting with each letter of the alphabet. So the first thing he got me to do was to quiz him, it was amazing I think he barely got any wrong, actually I don’t think he did get any what he did get wrong was names after guessing the amount with each letter he would tell me the names, he got most of them but some he forgot. Still I was awe struck I mean it would be like memorizing the name of each street in a town in Malta. I don’t even know the name of the street next to our house (I don’t mean the one I live in). obviously it is all useless information and that’s why I don’t really care much to know that.

Then he showed me a kind of poster which he designed to help him memorize the amount of counties in each state and the date they came into the union. He put them in order starting with those that were colonies then the others starting I forgot the name but it has 14 counties and was born either on the 14 February or it was the 14th state to enter the union. He used a lot of symbols for example he used a triangle to symbolize 3, he used a 5 pointed star to symbolize 5, a heart to symbolize 14 (14 February), a pumpkin for 31st October, stuff like that which if u pay attention really does help u memorize stuff. For example I remember there are 254 counties in Texas, California was born on the 9th septhember and has 58 counties, North Carolina has 100 counties and Louisiana has 64. stuff like that.

He was teaching me this stuff, and drew a simplified map of the US then at the end he started asking the others there to quiz me and he was really proud of me coz he’s been trying to teach this stuff to the ones who go there every time he goes there and since most people aren’t really interested the never learn so apparently I learnt more in the 45 mins I was with him then most of the others who lived in the states all their lives. So this guy was a mathematician but unfortunately he cannot spell and since he lived before people tried to help people with dyslexia he ended up living on relief, there might also be some other mental issues but I dunno.

All the time im talking to these guys Im thinking of how beautiful they are, in fact Jason Upton’s new CD called Beautiful People has the face of a bum on the front cover and I kept remembering the song and thinking how beautiful these people are in the eyes of God and how they have been pushed aside simply coz of a small handicap.

On our way back I was in the same van with the same people so they started praying over Malta and then me and then they prophesied over me. That was really sweet. This morning another guy came up to me in the prayer room and started prophesying over me as well some things were also related to what the others said yesterday. Sweet stuff.

Today there is a day of fasting for the staff there were a lot of people in the prayer room between 10 and 12, for the last half hour or so the worship team started prophesying with their instruments they started playing something between jazz and tango, and I danced with all my might until I ran out of breath then had a couple of minutes break and started dancing again. It was so much fun and I could really sense the pleasure of God as people all over started dancing for him and simply enjoying his presence and the music which comes from Him through man back to Him.

Anyway ttyl

Hey all

So how have thing been goin for u?
Here umm. Its different. Even the fact that u can go to a pray in a prayer room with other people 24/7, its close to where I live so its even better. I love that, also the atmosphere is so creative, the fact that there is so much music going on 24 7 and also a lot of it spontaneous it spurs more creativity, like start singing new songs just like that I forget them by the time 5 minutes have passed but u know.

The day before yesterday I felt God tell me dance for me, I was like OK. Some of u know what my dancing is like, so its interesting, but then I little by little I kinda lost my awareness of people around me and just let go and started using my legs and feet which I never did before, it was sweet I really enjoyed it, he did it again yesterday. I guess it’s both intercession and worship.

Saturday night I went out with some people to do evangelism, it was good except for one event. I started witnessing to this one guy, and he came up with every single issue people normally come up with. Like other religions and stuff like that, I spent 20 minutes talking to him, then suddenly his eyes changed and he starting speaking to me with authority and then started speaking in tongues. It turned out he was a leader from ihop and basically he was just playing me. Or maybe he saw it as training me who knows. Any way then we just talked for a bit and we continued going round witnessing.

One thing I noticed is most people are individuals, I mean most people have friends and I heard its really easy to make friends and in some ways its true if ur the kind of person who just walks up to people which im not, so mostly I hang out with people from the house and also made friend with those that do evangelism.

Yesterday morning I went to the service at IHOP Mike Bickle spoke about purity in general but focused a lot on sexual immorality, he challenged us using Job 31:1 (among many others):

I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

So he challenged us to make a covenant with our eyes, powerful stuff, he used a lot of other verses showing how lust is displeasing to God, and how we need to make a choice not to last and to resist temptation. He also mentioned how a lot of travelling ministers end up in sin, because first they are brought to exhaustion and therefore weakness and then using some emotional stuff satan lures them into giving in to sexual immorality, obviously this goes for everyone not just travelling preachers.

Yesterday evening we went to the 24/7 prayer boiler room, that something separate from IHOP, part of a movement that started in England, they aren’t doing 24/7 yet at least not in KC. Those who met Andy (Marty’s friend) he is part of this movement leading the urban monastery in Calgary Canada. It was interesting I never hear a sermon like that before. Mostly it was about beauty. Which she referred to as the awe of creation or of something else I don’t remember. She started by asking what is beauty, and challenged society’s views of beauty which change with time and fashion. She also gave a lot of details about a lot of different creatures like bees, different kinds of flowers, referring to the detail of design, showing both how impossible it is for them to have come by chance and also how when we live in awe of things around us we live in worship. Like we can live in awe of what we see, hear, feel, taste… we had actually been talking about the pleasure of eating before we left home and also the day before. And someone have mentioned that food is God’s love mad edible. MMMMMMM

This morning I went to prayer room early but ended up dosing off so I came to the cafeteria and started writing this email.

This evening I should be going out with the homeless ministry, I don’t know what that’s going to be like. Please pray about this stuff.

Peace

27/7/07

Hey all. So im safe at IHOP. The trip was long but easier than expected. I thought I had to change the bus a lot more times than I actually did I only changed the bus 5 times but at the back of the ticket other stops where marked and I thought those stops meant we were changing bus but they were actually just rest stops.

Before leaving concord I was really blessed Royce (the guy who owns the house I was in) gave me a book, then Rashied another guy living there gave me 2 more. Then in the morning before I left Royce gave me a map of KC.

Rashied was supposed to drive me to the bus stop but the car wouldn’t start, good thing we were leaving early, Royce tried to charge the battery but it didn’t work so he ended up driving me with his car. He prayed for me before he left the bus station.

One thing I really noticed on the trip was poverty, not just financial, that too, but spiritual and emotional poverty and attitudes of slavery. Especially among African Americans, they aren’t physically slaves but they look like it, their faces really show they are under oppression.

The Hispanics are really sweet especially older ones that grew up in their country. Those that grew up in the states have a different attitude altogether especially those that grow in the cities, u can tell from their faces, clothes and attitudes. It’s interesting I guess.

Yesterday when I got to Kansas city, there had been a misunderstanding (Daniel the guy im staying with didn’t read my email before yesterday morning) so I didn’t get picked up which was ok coz I didn’t think I was getting picked up. So I had to find my own way to his house. I had prepared a map with the shortest/safest walking route to they house, but then I realized it would take me between 4 or 5 hours to walk, and that’s without baggage so obviously baggage slows me down even more. So I thought id get the bus.

So when I got to the grey hound bus station in KC I went to the customer service to ask where and what bus to get to get closest to his house. The lady there was very helpful, she spent probably 15 mins on the phone trying to figure out which bus and time … the bus shelter was right across the road, so that was great had to take 2 busses the second one dropped me right infront of the door. There’s other detail I could go into but it’s unnecessary.

I went to the door, knocked waited a bit but there was no one there. I knew IHOP was just round the corner so I thought id better go there in the coffee shop (I presumed they had internet) go online and let abby and mum know im here. I found out from her that Daniel was at home so after resting a bit I went to the house. There I found a not from Daniel telling me to go inside and call him from the kitchen phone. Im like man that’s just weird (people leaving their doors open and im supposed to just walk in). so I went in and tried to call a few times but it didn’t work, later I found out (Daniel remembered) that the phone doesn’t work long distance. So basically I waited there at the house looking into their yard, saw 2 squirrels tried to film one but nothing can be seen in them.

Then I got a phone call from Daniel and he told me he’d be there in 25 minutes and told me that if I wanted to I could go help him help Leslie (his fiancĂ©e and eve’s friend) I was like “sure” then we told me but u don’t have to, aren’t u tired, I was ok so when he came we left to go help. It didn’t take as long as it took us last week, there wasn’t so much stuff and when we were unloading we unloaded to a room downstairs right behind the garage so it was easy and quick, while loading we had to go into a lift and through a couple of doors so we wasted a lot more time. While there I met another of Eve’s friends called Johnna who offered to take me to do my shopping today. After we were done leslie gave me some money, I didn’t want to take it u know what its like then in my mind I was like I need to learn to accept people’s gifts and not feel guilty so I ended up accepting. She said she didn’t want to abuse the foreigner, I think she did it for eve.

We went home I met 2 more of the room mates there. I went out with one of them to walmart just to hang out from my side, it was already 11, I didn’t buy much only some lip balm coz I was desperate since iv been sick my lips have dried up really bad and they hurt a lot. He didn’t find anything he wanted to buy for himself so he just bought a couple of things for one of his room mates. We struck up a conversation with a Kenyan employee there so we talked to him for bout 20 minutes or something, it turns out he used to go to ihop but then he moved to Kansas City Kansas so he stopped and now he just moved back here.

This room mate I was with is funny, he is sweet but he talks a lot he sounds excited all the time and barely has time to breathe, sometimes he has to think about breathing.

This morning I went with Dan to prayer room they were doing an hour or 2 hour session there, went in to the briefing before they started and then just went to the side when they started and did my thing. I left the prayer room at 11, got a shuttle to IHOP coz the prayer room at the moment is at FSM (the school and where they do conferences) went to the book store (man there’s too much stuff, good thing Patrick wasn’t here). I started part of this letter, then I met Johnna and we went shopping. Actually she paid for all my food for the time im here (I felt embarrassed but she told me she did it for ben and eve and for malta which she loved when she was here) btw both leslie and Johnna were in Malta, I don’t really remember them (typical well maybe not just really bad).

So now I finished this letter, ill go back to the cafeteria to send it come back to the house leave my laptop here and go to JHOP which apparently is moving here.

Peace to all.

23/7/07

Saturday evening we went downtown to preach and pray for the sick and that. Was good, we got to pray for a few people. I prayed for 2 guys who thought they could make it to heaven by their own being good, I had spoken to them for 10 mins so I told them let me just pray for u, so I prayed that they would realize the sinfulness of their heart and the mercy of God, that they wouldn’t sleep until they repent stuff like that and that they would get to know God.

Also prayed with one guy who had crutches, he had sprained his ankle playing basket ball, so I prayed for him 2 times, he was afraid to try it, I told him no matter what it felt like he was healed he crossed the road and I saw him try a few steps without the crutches but he put them back on.

There was one girl who repented on her knees and gave her life to Christ there on the street. Joel was talking to her and one of the Morningstar girls came across the street and started discipling her and telling her that some of her friends might reject her and talked to her about her boyfriend living with her. She got her number and she was goin to pick her up for church Sunday. They were talking to her for about 30 mins.

One of the girls spent like 20 mins talking to a girl until her friends made her leave but she had already prayed with her.

There was one guy who came to ask us for help, somewhere to live coz his wife had had an epileptic fitz and all their money had been stolen. We talk to some others and they told us it was probably a scam and that we should not go back but if he talked to us we should tell him to go to police station and talk to them since they would have the numbers to homeless shelters. So that’s what we did, we didn’t go but he came looking for us as soon as we left the spot we were in and I told him what we were told, he looked a bit angry but he just left.

We moved to another spot opposite some night clubs, Joel carries a life size cross around him to attract or push away people and he preaches of the foolishness of the cross. We had 2 girls come up to us before we started they said they were Christians but the way they were dressed u could tell they were religious not saved. They were there to get drunk, so Joel talked to them a bit and prayed for them.

He started to preach we got a few different responses more negative, someone gave Joel 20 dollars (lol) he was a bit shocked and he told us later its not the first time sometimes he feels he shouldn’t take it but sometimes he does. We had another guy start rapping about Jesus. We had a few people mock us, a drunk guy came hugging us and then left screaming “the devil has taken me! the devil has taken me!”. Joel asked me to take his place which I did but the cross was pushing me over I couldn’t preach for too long like that. I later preached with some of the other guys without the cross. Only for a couple of minutes in all first time I stood on a newspaper box (where people pick free newspapers and magazines) to be higher up get more range and more attention but then I was told to go down coz I could get arrested for vandalism so I stepped down. Later just before leaving I just told them to choose whom they will serve sin or God, coz there is no other choice.

On our way back we met another guy from fire and the street preacher we were with last week, they were next to Morningstar, they told us some testimonies of deliverances and that. But I didn’t hear the details coz I wasn’t talking to them.

Yesterday service was really good with a lot of prayer and worship, for most of the first half an hour or something I was really distracted, I was worship with all my heart but my mind was not there. The message by mike brown was good I was freezing to death and falling asleep so I thought it was a bit too long. But it was good. The message was from acts 18 and it was about not depending on ourselves but on God.

I met a guy (fire grad) whom I had met a couple of years ago in Sicily he was with John Cava, him and his wife are planning to move to Germany to do some work there. They took my email so they would be able to contact me if they were planning to come to Malta or something of that sort.

In the afternoon we went to play volleyball I hadn’t played in around 10 probably, so it helped remind me that I don’t know how to serve. The rest was ok but serving I couldn’t really do, out of 4/5 I did one that was good. Most of the rest of the day I tried to pray but ended up sleeping instead.

Today I don’t have a clue what is goin to happen might go to a prayer meeting this evening. I’ve got a soar throat and my nose was blocked for most of the night I guess from the street preaching and shouting.

Hope ur all doing well peace to all.

20/7/07

Hey hope uv all been doin well. This week the students had exams so I went to a few classes but not that many still, I only didn’t go to school yesterday. Lessons are really good, I made quite a few friends, mostly guys, its really hard to talk to girls here coz the separate themselves from all the guys, like if u talk to a girl she has to come up to u individually. Dunno it’s weird I think its probably coz of all the regulations they have here. Anyway that’s something weird here but it doesn’t matter that much.

Yesterday I started reading spiritual ways of royalty wow, its an awesome book. And its really easy to read although sometimes I ended up stopping to meditate on what he was saying coz it was so good.

Tuesday i joined my flatmates in helping a couple move house, it was very tiring, I expected to be there for a couple of hours but we ended up working from around 2 to 10, we ate and all but it was very hot and at some points it also rained so it was intense. At around 8:30 the wife went out and while on the road she had some sort of attack and she couldn’t breathe, she was in a lot of pain, she called we all stopped to pray and we could hear her crying on the phone, the husband went to pick her up while we continued to pray and unload the truck, he took her to hospital and she stayed there overnight I think she was ok at the hospital but the husband was in such shock that he didn’t really tell us much at all. She should be ok now but I forgot to ask about her.

After we finished unloading we went to swim in their pool for a bit, it was fun we stopped coz it started raining, we weren’t that bothered by the rain until we figured the clothes would all get wet. So we went to pick them up and sheltered ourselves.

Yesterday we had a farewell dinner, for some of the students that would be leaving. We had a buffet which cost almost $10 so I tried to eat as much as possible to make up, it wasn’t anything special but there was a lot of food and sweet stuff for dessert, I ate more than I actually could (so im hoping not to go to any more buffets coz ill end up getting fat). After that we went straight to the service, there was a lot of good worship and a lot of prayer but I was in pain the whole time so I couldn’t focus as much as I would have liked to.

Today went back to school met with the healing team while they were deciding where to go and praying for one of the girls who will be leaving the school. Im going out with them tonight to a mall to pray for people, after that im probably going to a farewell party for this girl.

Today at school we all met to eat pizza both as a fundraiser for some of the missions going on during break and also to celebrate last day of school.

Im starting to consider maybe I should come to school, coz ive learnt a lot while here and there is so much I need to learn but, even if I wanted to I would definitely miss the first trimester. So im thinking if anything I might take one trimester and just do something part time the last trimester or something. Im not saying im coming, but u know im still waiting for clearer direction for the next step to take, there is so much I want to do. I actually went up for prayer for clearer direction yesterday at service.

oh im trying to learn to allow pictires to b taken of me, so when i get some i might try send a pic or 2 of yesterday's meal. I moved house wednesday much later than i was supposed to just coz it worked out that way.

morningstar people on the streets of charlotte1
morningstar people on the streets of chalotte 2

more videos the call

taken by john one of the guys im living with

ey, last night night we went to down town charlotte, it's the first time iv been in a down town area in the states. no biggy i guess except for the big buildings, some of the buildings are really nice. there's also a lot of culture as in sculptures and stuff like that some cheesy stuff and but also some really good stuff espescialy one in particular i recognised it from a book at school but he's the guy with the book at school in a weird european language greek or something like that. it was like every office building had its own sculpture outside if it was a library they had something to do with books. any way it was cool didnt take any pics, ill take some next time im there.

there were some morningstar people on the street doing worship, rapping kinda, preaching stuff like that. we were a group of 6 and split into 2 teams we met a couple of street preachers one of them actually only got saved 2 weeks ago. so we got to preach at a street corner to people walking by and cars that stop on the lights. first time street preaching, which i had been looking forward to. while there we got to pray with a guy who was homeless and was only saved recently, he found a job and got his first wage so he was being tempted to spend them on drugs or drinking which he was addicted to. so we talked to him bout the holy spirit which gives us the ability not to sin, we prayed for him and told him not to look to sin but to Jesus so he wouldnt fall.

we then went one on one. well 3 on 1/2/3 whatever. so... we had some weird experiances with homeless people claiming they had a special revelation from God that God has got both good and evil DNA (hmmm) and that Jesus was the son of david because God took david's seed and gave it to mary. weird stuff. so we ended up wasting ages with him trying to show him the truth while he was trying to show us the truth and he was actually preaching to others bout this stuff. so anyway in the end we ended up praying with him and prayed that if he was right the truth would be revealed to us and if we were wrong the truth would be revealed to him.

then we prayed with a lady who had something wrong with her wrists not sure what, she said she felt better but im not sure coz she was helping out a guy singing in the streets, gospel songs for money, that being twisted as it was i think she might have been lying. but if she wasnt that's good.

we made a friend who works at burger King so thats a seed that could be developed further. we spoke to a few more people but nothing much happened. we hung out around morning star peole for a while, i made a few recordings, some of them werent that great but it was good pretty spontaneaous for the most part. ill try to upload them soon

today during service bob gladstone preached again from acts 17 mostly on widom being bold he also used proverbs 1 and a few others. i also recorded that and ill try to upload it what did u guys think of the place we went swimming? btw sorry about the visdeao of just green and that but since we dont really have that back home i enjoy the beauty of that stuff more.

we had a picknic today ina park here, was ok a lot of food and since i wasnt talking or playing volley ball i ended up either eating or walking or laying somewhere to pray/sleep to occupy myself. i talked to people as well but u know me.

by the time u read this the recordings of morningstar people and Bob gladstone would be uploaded

peace to u all

btw this is what the rubbish looks like at the house im staying they threw it away now but that was last night.

july 14 07 concord NC

hey so last couple of days were interesting. iv attended classes here at fire school wednesday- friday, i got to choose basically any class i wanted so people just told me which were the best and i went for those. had lessons with Mike Brown, Bob Gladstone, Josh Peters and Scott Volk. still havent actually met mike brown he's running full throttle from place to place. he was at the call saturday, monday tuesday he was in dallas and yesterday he left here for atlanta. but i met the others, not that i actually got to talk to them that much.

but i did get to meet Joel a guy Fabian had told me to i had to meet while i was here, he together with a grad or 3rd year takes care of the healing team ministry and yesterday i went out with that group so in the morning i went with that team to pray and talk and stuff and u know how often in these situations i cant keep my mouth shut, so i didnt and talked with them a bit.

back to thursday evening, i went to the service. worship was good, God was glorified and he was present. Bob Gladstone had a really good message, which i recorded and put on the blog. basically it was about not being satisfied with signs and wonders and not being disappointed without them but rather to rest in God, listening to his still small voice, and being intimate with Him, desiring signs and wonders but not looking for God in them but they are part of what God does not who he is. he used 1 kings 19 i think it was where Elijah escaped from Jezebel and God spoke to him. and God sent an earthquake, a strong wind ad fire but God was not in them , but then He was in the still small voice.

so what about the healing teams yesterday.
we met and split into 4 groups and went door to door looking for people to pray for. i was in a group of 3, we didnt meet any people who were sick and told us about it, well we met a kid who told us that his grandma was sick, we told him to call her but first he said she was on the phone and then we went again after 20 minutes and he said she was in the shower, when we noticed he was laughing we figured he was probably lying but i guess that's ok. we asked to pray for him but he said she wouldnt let him out, so we left and prayed on the road.

we found another guy no sickness or anything so we just witnessed to him, it was so to say frustrating that he knew he was going to hell but didnt seem to be concerned about it we spoke with him for a long time in the end we prayed with Him. mostly that he would see God's love and judgment and choose God over sin. the other guy in our group prayed that he would be miserable until he repented i prayed he wouldnt sleep until he repented. after prayer we i told him what i felt that he love his sin even though he knew it was destroying him. i told him to choose between God and sin and that i wished i could make the choice for him but i couldnt. so then we left. we had to go back coz basically we only had half an hour because we went out late and were supposed to head back by 9. we talked to another lady briefly, very religious mindset, she told us to go pray for elderly people up the road. that was it for our group.

in another group they had some sweet stuff. there was one guy who had a leg 3 inches shorter than the other. so they prayed ant told him to walk without limping and the leg grew by about 2 inches or maybe a bit more, it was still a bit shorter than the other, but al the pain was gone and he could walk naturally, he was jumping and celebrating. so that was pretty good i forgot what else happpened.

another group had some pretty good testimonies as well, a woman with cancer she said she felt better but she will have to do tests one of her children had something wrong with his ears so they prayed for that. dunno if got healed thtere and then but i know for sure that they ended up repentin even of bad language and stuff apparentlyit was very spontaneous repentance so it was good.

im not sure what happened with the other group they went to a hispanic home and i think they were there all the time not sure wat they did i guess they talk to this family they had already talk to before.

this morning we went to the abortion clinic, it was sad there is better word for it but cant think of it right now something like solemn i guess. i had teary eyes quite a few times. i couldnt bare the fact that i was at a place where babies were murdered and people just didnt care. even the security guy was laughing and making jokes about us with the girls outside the clinic before going in.

what we did was:

first we gave out literature and begged people not to kill their babies, to reconsider, and told them of other options they had like adoption, and they even offered free pre-natal medical care, free delivery and financial help for the mothers that would not kill the baby. including showers and stuff like that. also that they have contact for free adoption agencies

then more people came we set up a sound system and a couple of posters of an aborted baby to show them what they are doing. we used the sound system to pray, preach the gospel and God's heart and let people know of options and stuff like that like that it is better to give the child to adoption then to kill it. We had a policeman stop by 3 times but they he was ok first time he came and left the second and third time he talked to some people but i dont think he was telling them to stop or anything they were just chatting and stuff.

at the end the most emotional part maybe was a mother coming out almost crying she stopped to talk to the girls she had already gone through with it, but she felt really bad so the girls talked to her and and 1 of them ended up giving her the number.

one of the girls there was actually the girl who was arrested in the senate, usually the parents who were also arrested for disrupting the senate by asking for forgiveness out loud when a hindu priest stood to pray in the senate. they were in prison for 6 hours but they got bailed out. the video on youtubewas view over 40,000 times within 4 hours with a whole debate going on. some people might disagree but in my eyes someone stood up for what is right. even the fact the girl is actually pretty quite in general i think she is even younger than i am and its not like she was a judgmental or anything like that even when begging people to reconsider.

any way peace to all im hoping to put some pictures on the blog hopefuly today if i do that ill email u guys.

cu
these are some pictures from the guy im stayng with, some are from the call and some are from the place we went to swim at on our way to north carolina.

classes at fire

hey today i went to classes here at FIRE for the first time. it was good first lesson was a bit boring about the occult, animism, witchcraft and stuff like that. it was intersting but not enough to keep me from being bored, maybe the teacher was too quiet and didnt really interact that much with what was happening, dunno.

the other lesson was pretty interesting about leadership taught by Dr. Peters. First thing he did was get me to introduce myself and then he commented about something like "I wonder how u found out about FIRE?" and the others all jumped in to tell him i was fabian's cousin, so he said are u anything like fabian? and i said i guess, it depends what u mean. and then he said well Fabian is the only young person i took to my church who managed to embarrass the church by his fire.

the lesson was good about different stages of leadership for example lowest stage is when u r a leader coz of ur position, the next would be people follow you out of relationships you build at this point people will follow u further than a positional leader. and so on.

had a lesson with Bob Gladstone, that was good, the lesson was about kingdom destiny and in this part they were discussing a msg given by a guy called matt from morningstar a week ago or something. the msg was basically about impacting the world with resources we have. so we talked about stuff like balancing a job with ministry, or just having a business that would support missionaries or just being on the field preaching or maybe on the field digging wells and other humanitarian stuff. it was i guess about fulfilling whatever God asks us to do by whatever means he provides.

Hey im writing this in Gatwick airport trying to kill some time here.

OK, so… yesterday my flight from Malta was delayed 2 hours due to bad weather in UK, (yay!), so I just had to wait stare try not to sleep for 2 hours. We left at around 11:30 and landed here at 1:20 pm UK time. Throughout the flight I just tried to sleep but I don’t think I managed to doze off for more then a few seconds while the plane was approaching Luton airport.

Went to get luggage but there were 4 different places to pick up luggage from and I wasn’t sure which one there wasn’t anything on the ticket, so I just followed there others from my flight then I remembered it would be better if I got trolley so I went for one and got the baggage, “rushed” out (im sure abby knows what my rushing is like) to get the bus we had missed it by 10 minutes (was pre paid and booked) so I asked a driver there and he told me I could get the next one at 3:40 using same ticket.

I went inside coz it was cold and a bit rainy. Bought a bottle of water for a staggering 1.39gbp and just sat on my baggage in the trolley for an hour, set the alarm just in case I went out at 2:20 again some kind of attempt to keep my self awake I guess. Went back inside at around 2:35 sat in front of a TV so I could check the time, and set an alarm just in case. Ate a bit.

At 3:25 I got ready to go to the bus so I went there met with a couple of gozitans who work here and were getting the same bus. Got on the bus no problem wrote a not to myself not to forget baggage on the bus, set an alarm a couple of time I guess didn’t hear either of them. I slept quite a bit near the end apparently barely slept at all for the first bit.

Got to Gatwick around 6/630 found my zone right away sat there wondering what to do for the next few hours. Went downstairs round a bit ate a bit and im sure u know what else ok ill give u a hint p__. Went up again ate a bit more stared around heard some music. Checked in at 7:30, got inspected me through and through including shoes through the machine, at least I didn’t have to strip or something.

Went round shops here trying to kill time filled the papers for my arrival in the states and now im writing this. Its 8:55 here, should be boarding in around half an hour. Peace

Btw any of u got ideas for the blog so I set that up?

So after I wrote the last part I went through the gate, I thought it meant I was boarding but I guess not as I found out later. They checked through my bag and asked a lot of questions like “as far as u know has anyone tempered with ur bag?” “did u pack yourself?” stuff like that, I think he realized I thought the questions were strange so he told me don’t worry its standard questions… he got me to unzip the hoodie a and he checked if I was carrying anything, I think my mum called me at that point, not sure if it was only a msg or a call, but I know for sure I received a few msgs while he was inspecting me.
Ok so then I walked through, then I was like I wonder y all these people are waiting up here and didn’t go down I came to the conclusion they were waiting for another plane, so managed to get myself through the different seats with people and was going to go down, then I looked up from writing a msg and found a metal bar right in front of coz the gate was still closed. So I waited and went down a bit later.

The flight was long and relatively boring most of the time I was just trying to sleep, when we got to the first glimpse of land I got a bit excited although there were still 4:30 hours left, it took an hour until we got on the mainland. So at that point I left the TV on the map which shows u where u are and how much longer u have left…

From above it all looks the same pretty boring, fields houses and a bit of green, I thought there would have been much more space between one town and another, it’s still pretty crowded (incomparable to Malta but still).

Landed here at14:30 and it took me about an hour till I got out. Went quite good the guy asking questions was very cynical and stuff like that but it was ok.

Yesterday we drove somewhere between 5-6 hours to Miami Oklahoma (not the same one u see on TV) this is a pretty small town. We went straight to the church coz we didn’t have time to go to the house. Pretty good and intense stuff, we were there from 715 till bout 1030, Fabian (my cousin) probably spent an hour just praying for people, not sick or anything just boldness, love and passion for lost filling of the Holy Spirit stuff like that since we go on the streets today There was some sharing and worship, the worship team looks pretty cool (the drummer looks like lead singer from blindside, and the bassist looks like the bassist from blindside hairstyle wise) and u can sense their passion. As soon as we got to the church we heard some testimonies from the last time Fabian was here in May. This one child (Austin) 6 years old used to be demon possessed or something, very violent, cutting himself and stuff like that, now his mother told us “that’s not Austin anymore; maybe I should change his name”. As soon as he saw Fabian he came to hug him, before if someone tried to pray for him he would fight him off. So that was pretty sweet.

So tonight I have no clue what to expect what will be happening, I know they set up a pavilion (ma nafx x inhu imma hekk jghidulu nimmagina xi tip ta palk jew ek) in the fair ground and Fabian will be preaching together with the local pastor there.

The people here are very hospitable, they gave us a house all to ourselves, with a fridge full of bottles of water and cans of pepsi diet and not diet. They took us out to eat last night had my first taste of Taco Bell Mexican restaurant. Was hard to make a choice with all the things I don’t like managed to get a burrito with chicken, rice and cheese. They also had melted cheese sauce which you could dip some crisps into, mmmmm. Out the whole meal that’s what I really enjoyed I think there rest was ok nothing special.

Btw I didn’t suffer any jetlag, woke up once at 7:30 and once between 6:30 and 7, which is standard procedure for me.

Names for blog would be greatly appreciated, im thinking maybe “letters from my pilgrimage” but it’s too long and a bit lame.

Getting closer to The Call, going to be amazing I’m sure. We are currently driving through Oklahoma back home well u know Dallas, we thought we might encounter some flooding but most of the flooding is in other parts of the Texas Oklahoma border. So far we heard a teaching about the power of our testimony by Bill Johnson, worship by Marcus Witt and now teaching from some other guy.

Miami was interesting to say the least it seemed to be completely opposite to what we expected. We were out on the streets witnessing but mostly inviting people to meetings. We went door to door which I don’t really like we also went to wallmart which was more my kind of thing I guess, it was pretty hard most people were polite but they didn’t really want to listen, Gregg the guy I was with there got to pray with an older lady for healing. Yesterday we went to a park where people were fishing, at first we were pretty lost didn’t know what we were supposed to do so we just walked and prayed, we saw one guy in a wheelchair we asked if we could pray and the guy with him said no, I said ok I felt a bit bad about that coz I didn’t try to explain to him that Jesus wants to heal him. We then moved on and saw two guys who just got there Benji the guy who was with me this time walked up to one of them and started witnessing to him, I joined in but only talked when I felt a need to talk, we got to pray with these two guys for freedom and a revelation of God. The guy who was doing all the talking had been in prison and on drugs he’s been off of drugs now for 7 months, he had a Judge who was a Jesus man I guess and he used to call him every 2 weeks or so to see how he was doing and share the gospel with him, he goes to his church sometimes but I don’t believe he is born again yet. Anyway he also told us to pray for the judge who had just had a heart attack, so we prayed for that and left.

So the meetings were supposed to be in a tent outside in the park, on the first day we went there and it rained and stopped right before the meetings and started again as soon as the worship started, we did 3 songs but then water stated coming in and cables were getting wet so we quickly dismantled everything, packed and went to the church building, the rest of the meetings were held inside, by the time we left the tent we were going to be in was 3 inches under water coz the river right next to it overflowed. Ill attach a picture of that probably.

The meetings were pretty good weren’t really evangelistic more building of the church and encouraging them to walk and live for the gospel, for the Kingdom people were pretty stirred and that’s partly why we had so many people on the streets, after yesterday’s evening people 2 girls decided they wanted to go visit hospitals, they had already been feeling they should go and when fabian mentioned it they took that as a confirmation. Another couple of guys really felt they should start going to the streets more often. So the main purpose of these meeting was to encourage a few people to live the gospel of the Kingdom. I filmed a couple of the messages and I might put those on you tube and send the link.

I got the new Jason upton CD powerful stuff, he’s got the cry of a generation. The CD is called beautiful people, with songs such as “I will ever leave you children” and “Lullaby for a petrified sacred society” haven’t heard all of them yet but there r other songs such as “mum & dad” and “Sons & Daughters”. I also copied a dvd of him at winter ramp 07 I think, I only copied part one ill try put it on youtube as well, the quality visually is horrible ill have to do it again next time im here but the sound should be ok. The visuals u only need to see how much more of a Jesus stoner he looks like now then he did a couple of years ago.

Something God was teaching me during this trip is that we preach the gospel not so much for the people but for Him. was reading jeremiah 20 where he's just complaining to God coz everyone mocks him and ignores him, but everytime God speaks he cannot keep from speaking His words. When we go people might not want to hear the gospel, but it breaks God's heart to see one sinner go to hell but sin enslaves the people and makes them reject the gospel, their eyes must be opend to realize they are actually slaves to sin, but under the illusion of freedom. like jews in the concentration camps who thought if they wouldnt resist maybe they could make it through the war, most of them did not. so God's heart yearns for even one of his sons to be freed from captivity to sin and shame and come under adoption.

GB may you all know more of the length and breadth and depth and height of his love

Today is the long awaited day “The Call”. Haven’t slept for more than an hour this night. Not sure why was wide awake for most of the time. Been “daydreaming” most of that time. We r with the fire students here. Going to meet Bob Gladstone at breakfast this morning then we might make some arrangements and ride in the same car as Mike Brown since Fabian is like a son to him.

Already had some intense prayer before getting to hotel with the others we drove with. One of the guys we drove with whom I had met Wednesday, well basically, what he does in life is he sets up, leads, equips Christian drug rehabilitation centres. So I told him bout the need in Malta for something like that. And he was really into it especially since there is nothing at all. So any of u who would be into that pls let me know.

So that’s what I was day dreaming about. Might give more details after I talk to a few people individually.

______ tista taghtini idea x ikun hemm bzonn bhala permessi juen naf nies li irridu nkellmu u informazzjoni li jkunu jridu jafu?

OH the drive was long just over 10 hours and we stopped every 2 hours to pee. They have these rest stops by the road where stop, pee, rest, stretch and eat. They are really important here. One thing though is they use a lot of stainless steel in them which is a waste I mean imagine public toilets made of stainless steel. Most have stainless steel doors and stuff like that but one even had stainless steel toilets, I mean the actual toilet u pee in is made of stainless steel, it looks nice but I’m sure it’s very expensive especially for a public toilet. I also saw a young deer unfortunately she was stuck in between 2 roads and was pretty much panicking. I hope she didn’t get hit.

Any way ill write something later or tomorrow, not sure when ill be able to email this since the hotel charges money for using the internet.
PEACE

Hey all, so… the call was awesome there was a lot of repentance, crying weeping screaming and grief. That was mostly repentance over abortion and pornography. Like for porn first people were weeping… then mentioned a few statistics, then he said the youngest know child used in a porn video was 18 months old and everyone broke out crying and weeping. Its hard for me to even write about now. There was a lot of weeping about abortion, no need for statistics everyone knew. One woman stood repenting before us for having aborted a baby of our generation, there was also one who used to perform the abortions on people repenting and it looked like she couldn’t forgive herself so we all pour our love and forgiveness on her. Stacey Campbell went up to her and held her.

There was also Stacey and I guess Wesley Campbell who repented on behalf of the youth of their generation that turned to occultic practices and sexual immorality believing it was freedom only to find out it was more binding. And that they opened up a doorway that led to the immorality we have today.

I wept and cried a lot myself. I was at the front on the left side of the stage for most of the morning 8-2. Had two breaks coz the heat was too strong after the second break I ended up not goin down again coz it was too hot. A lot of people were passing out, I saw at least 3 who had passed out. They were even passing out free drinks to help and kept warning us to drink a lot of water.

I met with heath and David who r goin to come to Malta and then North Africa with Fabian and me. I also met Gordon Manche and his wife that was definitely unexpected. He had a flag of Malta so we prayed for Malta a bit.

Met Bob Gladstone at the call not at breakfast, which is ok didn’t really talk much to him (obviously) didn’t meet mike brown at all, not even fabian met him, I saw him but that was it.

So Sunday we left for Concord north Carolina. We drove for a few hours and then we found this small stream, found a hole large and deep enough and we swam there, it was beautiful, first time I swam in fresh water. The place was just amazing, almost mystical, like some scene from lord of the rings. Ill try get some pictures from the others cos I had forgotten my camera in the car when I went there.

We stopped at a parking area before walking to the stream as soon as we arrived there was someone with a walking stick (bastun) one of the guys went up to her and prayed with her while sitting in the car. After leaving there on our way home we stopped at Subway for some food. So basically after playing around with the servers trying to convince them to guess where I was from, from my accent, they didn’t manage, so they told them r u familiar with the bible where paul was shipwrecked on an island called Malta… and anyway we ended up witnessing wit them, one of them was a pastors son, there was another who was a pastor’s daughter and another Baptist, so we just prayed with them and encouraged them to pursue God, and seek Him not a religion. It was good.

The guys im with r really sweet, im basically staying at an international house, there is not one American here, 4 canadians, 1 from Ghana, 1 from Cameroon, 2 dutch, 1 italian. Yesterday my first night here in concord there were also 3 guests including me, well even tonight I believe the other 2 move out tomorrow. You can tell it’s a house for guys, its not exactly hygienic, guess it ok, some parts really stink and this morning they found food they had left for the weekend before coming to the call.

I got invited to go to a home group wednesday, im not sure if ill be expected to share or just be present probably somewhere in between.

Today we went to the school here and applied for the possibility to maybe attend a few of the classes. They weren’t sure since u r supposed to apply a week in advance and I didn’t and next week they have the finals.

Next Saturday im probably goin to an abortion clinic with students here to talk to people and stuff, in the evening we r goin downtown witnessing, im hoping ill get to street preach there coz iv been wanting to do it for a while. Other than that im not sure what‘s happening for the rest week. Next Sunday or Monday ill be moving to another house, and the following week to another house.

Grace and Mercy to all hope I didn’t forget to write anything.
